THE GARDEN CLUB OF ST. LOUIS

HAS SUPPORTED THE FOLLOWING IN RECENT YEARS:

CENTENNIAL GIFT
The Gift commemorates our first 100 years by supporting the creation of a seven-acre multi-purpose park on the St. Louis Gateway Arch grounds being transformed by the CityArchRiver project. Specifically, the gift is directed to the construction of a new entrance to the Park, operated by the National Park Service as part of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial. The site will include a 14,000-square-foot area for plantings that will provide an idyllic foreground to historic Eads Bridge and the mighty Mississippi River that runs beneath it.
By June 2015, more than 100 members had joined the Society and ultimately more than 80% have contributed to the campaign. In a single year, the Club raised nearly a quarter of a million dollars to support this dramatic transformation of St. Louis’ historic Riverfront, an extraordinary effort by our venerable and stalwart club
